Dust extraction is important not only to keep the clients home clean but also to provide a quality finished product. Our 30HP trailer mounted vacuum system keeps 99% of airborne dust out of the home, out of our lungs and out of the finish. 

We have invested in the best sanding equipment the industry has to offer. We feel it’s paramount to utilize the best equipment and tools available to provide the flattest, longest lasting floor possible. The equipment used can make or break a sand job, if the equipment has any vibration due to balancing issues, drum problems, bearings, wheels or bad overall maintenance this will show itself in the finished product. We pride ourselves in upholding the highest standards in equipment selection and maintenance. 

With over 20 years experience we have mastered the art of floor sanding and wood finishing. We continue to push the boundaries of sanding and finishing techniques thru collaboration and training. 

There are multiple ways to finish wood floors. I’ll explain.

1. Traditional polyurethane finishes. These finishes are usually oil based and work very well over traditional stain colors, they amber over time and add to the color.

2. Waterborne finish. These finishes come in single and 2 component variants. These finishes are good when we want faster dry times, ultra matte sheen, ambering is not desired or we want to keep the raw look of the wood.

3. Tung Oil Finish. Tung oil is made from pressed seeds from the nut of the tung tree. This finish is extremely durable and easy to repair. We believe Tung Oil offers the best “foot worn”  patina over time. We can also obtain highly customized colors with this finish.
4. Penetrating Oil Finish. Penetrating oil finish is essentially taking one natural product and using to enhance another. These oils are extremely durable and highly repairable. The texture and foot feel of a oiled floor is second to none.

5. Hardwax Oil. Hardwax oil is similar to Penetrating oil but is enhanced with wax, this makes it ideal for commercial spaces or high traffic areas where the natural feel and easy maintenance is desired.

6. Conversion Varnish. Conversion Varnish finish, also sometimes called acid-cure or Swedish finish, forms a chemical bond to the wood when curing, adding strength to a highly durable top layer.

7. Wax. Paste Wax is a special blend of five waxes that gives hardwood floors the hand-rubbed luster of fine furniture.

We can also completely change the texture of your existing floor thru the process of handscraping or wire brushing.  Handscraping is the process of scraping the entire surface of the floor to give it the appearance of being worn over time.. a true handscaped floor is NOT what you see on prefinished Chinese products. A true handscape is a very elegant hand hewn wood floor that is one of a kind. No 2 are the same. When We handscrape a floor the floor is a canvas and it is a form of art. That’s the way we look at it. It also adds unmatched durability and repairability to the floor. If you want a elegant yet extremely durable and usable wood floor, handscraped it the way to go.
